Homebound Library Services makes visits to Warren East Side, Warren West Side, Howland, Cortland, Liberty, Niles, Champion, Vienna, and Newton Falls.

The Mobile Library Services Department of the W-TCPL provides monthly delivery of library materials to qualifying individuals free of charge.

Homebound Library Service Program

Who qualifies for homebound library service? Individuals who:

• Have a medical condition that limits their ability to visit the library; OR

• Are temporarily unable to leave home (due to illness, injury, etc.); OR

• Reside in an assisted living, nursing, or retirement community.

Customers must reside within the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library service area or be part of the service areas of the McKinley Memorial Library in Niles or the Newton Falls Public Library.

Homebound library service is available year-round. Regular, monthly delivery of library materials is available to those who qualify. Customers are visited in person at their residence.

Materials available include: books; large print books; popular magazines (including large print editions of Readers Digest and Guideposts); audiobooks on CD; music CDs.

Homebound customers may request specific titles, or library staff will choose materials based on customer preferences.

DVDs by Mail Program

Individuals who qualify for homebound service are eligible for the free DVDs by Mail Program to borrow up to 5 DVDs at a time by mail.

Customers can keep the DVDs (movies, documentaries) for up to 2 weeks and then return the DVDs by mail at no charge.

Talking Books Program

Individuals in Trumbull County who are visually limited have the opportunity to participate in the free Talking Books program through the Library of Congress. Qualified individuals will be supplied with a special Talking Book machine that plays “books” and “magazines.” Materials are sent directly in the mail to clients from the Ohio Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled.

Warren-Trumbull County Public Library Outreach Services staff can provide customers with an application for this free service.
