Calendar of Events
Things to do for adults, teens, and children at the Cortland Branch.
History
The first branch of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library was opened in Cortland during October 1977, housed in an old bookmobile parked in Willow Park. The library was later relocated to a rented house, then to its present building, which opened in December 1984. The branch expanded in 1991.
The current building is named in honor of the Viets family of Cortland, who generously donated land at 212 North High Street where the library is now located.
The Future
The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library Board of Trustees purchased 3.82 acres of land on Wakefield Drive in Cortland as a future site for a new Cortland Branch facility. It is not expected that the library will move forward on this project for several years.
Collection
As a popular reading center, the Cortland Branch Library features a small collection of reference materials. A more extensive reference collection is available at the Main Library at 444 Mahoning Avenue NW in Warren.
