Warren has been chosen as one of five host sites across the Buckeye State for the 2009 OHIO CHAUTAUQUA tour, sponsored and presented by the Ohio Humanities Council, and hosted locally by the Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County and the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library.

June 29-July 3 are the dates for OHIO CHAUTAUQUA to visit Trumbull County.

OHIO CHAUTAUQUA is a five-day event that combines living history presentations, education, local musical entertainment, theater, and audience interaction in an exciting cultural event the entire community can enjoy. This year’s theme is “Inventors and Innovators” and will feature scholars-in-residence portraying Thomas Edison, Mary McLeod Bethune, Andrew Carnegie, Alexander Graham Bell, and George Washington Carver.

Scholars will perform each evening under the red and white striped OHIO CHAUTAUQUA tent, which will be located on the festival grounds of the Riverwalk along Mahoning Avenue in Warren. In addition, outreach activities for children and adults will be offered each day at various locations throughout the community.

The Warren community previously hosted OHIO CHAUTAUQUA in 2004 and 2007.

All OHIO CHAUTAUQUA activities are free and open to the public.
