A Message from Warren-Trumbull County Public Library Director Jim Wilkins

(05/11/20)

Dear Library Patron,

We understand what a difficult time this has been as we all adapt to the changes necessitated by the ongoing COVID-19 health pandemic. The well-being of our community is of utmost importance during this crisis. While we are looking forward to the time when our libraries can safely reopen, for now, all our buildings will continue to remain closed to the public.

Our library leadership team is developing a plan to safely resume limited in-person library service as soon as practicable. We are considering many options, and we are developing a plan that will be implemented in phases once libraries in the state are permitted to reopen by the Governor and we have additional health and safety measures in place. The plan prioritizes the health and safety of library customers and staff utilizing guidelines and recommendations from state and federal government and health officials.

Our reopening timeline may be impacted by the availability of sanitizing supplies, masks, and gloves, as well as the installation of social distancing measures at each of our library buildings. We are also working on putting enhanced protocols in place to ensure the safe handling of library books, videos, and other materials customers borrow from the library.

In the meantime, our digital library is always open, with downloadable and streaming options available 24/7 to borrow e-Books, e-Audiobooks, digital movies and music, plus research and learning tools.

Library staff is available to answer general questions about digital library services by email to REF@WTCPL.ORG or text to (878) 201-4366. Questions about online genealogy research resources can be emailed to LHG@WTCPL.ORG, and questions for the Youth Services Department can be emailed to MNCHILD@WTCPL.ORG.

We will share any updates about resuming library services on library social media pages, through local media, and on the library website at www.wtcpl.org.

Thank you for your understanding during this uncertain time.

Jim Wilkins,
Director
