Brookfield Library Welcomes New Manager

(10/8/2021) – Amanda Murphy has been named manager of the Brookfield branch of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 7032 Grove Street.

Murphy, of Austintown, has been with the W-TCPL since 2005, first as a Branch Children’s Librarian, then Youth Services Assistant Manager, and Children’s Department Supervisor. Prior to joining the W-TCPL, she worked at the Massillon Public Library.

Murphy replaces former branch manager Deborah Mosora, who retired after 21 years with the W-TCPL.

In her new position, Murphy is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Brookfield Library, including circulation activities, supervisory duties, and collection maintenance.

“I’m excited to start this new chapter of my library career,” Murphy said. “I look forward to working with the Brookfield community and helping our customers connect with entertaining and informative books, movies, and more items from the library.”

Murphy earned her Master of Library and Information Science degree from Wayne State University (Detroit, Mich.) and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and history from West Liberty State College (W.Va.).

She has served on many professional state and national committees, including the Association for Library Service to Children. She is an audiobook reviewer for a national publication and has served as a judge for the Audie Awards, which annually recognize distinction in audiobooks.
