Connect with your library during National Library Week April 3 – 9, 2022

(04/1/2022) – The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library (W-TCPL) joins with libraries nationwide in celebrating April 3-9, 2022, as National Library Week, a time to highlight the essential role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening communities.

The theme for this year’s National Library Week is “Connect with Your Library,” which promotes the idea that libraries are places where communities connect.

“Technology now connects us with ideas, information, and entertainment options from around the world,” said Jim Wilkins, W-TCPL Executive Director. “Today’s library plays an important role in helping our communities connect with these opportunities.”

In addition to books, movies on DVD, music CDs, magazines, and audiobooks, the library also offers access to a variety of electronic resources. Library cardholders can download and enjoy digital content such as e-books and e-audiobooks and digital movies and music on their personal smartphone, tablet, or eReader at no cost through dedicated apps or through the library website.

The library also provides a variety of online resources to support students, adult learners, and small businesses. Online learning platforms accessible through the library website feature thousands of videos and tutorials covering topics such as computers and software; adult learning; homework resources; business and marketing; genealogy research; health and consumer information; and much more.

Internet-accessible computers are available for public use at the library, and free Wi-Fi access, scanning, and outgoing FAXing are also available.

This National Library Week, community members can show their appreciation and support for libraries by visiting their library in person or online from the comfort of home to explore and connect with the library’s free resources.

Molly Shannon, multiple Emmy-nominated and Spirit Award-winning actress, comedian, and legendary Saturday Night Live cast member, will help celebrate our nation’s libraries as the honorary chair of National Library Week 2022.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April.
