Free Summer Reading Program May 31 – July 30 for all Ages

(05/31/2022) – The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library’s annual free Summer Reading Program for all ages takes place May 31 through July 30 at W-TCPL locations, on the Bookmobile, and through an online option.

Summer Reading Program participants can read for fun and prizes by tracking their time spent reading at home. The theme for the 2022 Summer Reading Program is “Oceans of Possibilities,” and a variety of online storytimes and special events throughout the summer will focus on the oceans, sea life, and stories about them.

An online option for children, teens, and adults who would like to virtually participate in the Summer Reading Program is available through READSquared. Simply visit WTCPL.READSQUARED.COM to get started. It is free to create a personal account in ReadSquared to record reading activities, track progress, and even earn digital badges to celebrate summer reading. Then, just stop in at a W-TCPL library location to collect your prizes!

The Tadpole Club is a summer reading program specially for younger children up to age 3. Share literacy-based activities with your little one and they can receive a prize!

Children ages 3 to 12 can earn prizes for reading at home and keeping track of their reading with a Reading & Learning Bingo sheet or the online option. Kids complete activities in five boxes in a row (Read for 20 Minutes, Read or Write a Poem, etc.) to get a BINGO. Get at least 1 BINGO to win a toy prize! Get at least 2 BINGOs to win a book prize! Get at least 3, 4, or 5 BINGOs to enter the Grand Prize gift card drawing!

Plus, each child who registers will receive a free mini beach ball to keep.

Teens can pick up the 2022 Summer Challenge at a W-TCPL location or complete the challenge entirely online for prizes and a chance to win the Grand Prize.

Adults can also participate in summer reading through the library or online for the opportunity to be entered in prize drawings.
