Free Summer Reading Program Kicks Off June 1 at all W-TCPL Locations

(05/28/2021) – The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library’s annual free Summer Reading Program for all ages begins June 1 and continues through July 31 at all W-TCPL locations, on the Bookmobile, and through a new online option.

Summer Reading Program participants can read for fun and prizes by tracking their reading activities in a BINGO format! The theme for the 2021 Summer Reading Program is “Tails and Tales,” and a variety of online storytimes and special events throughout the summer will focus on animals and stories about them.

The library is introducing an online option this year for children, teens, and adults who would like to virtually participate in the Summer Reading Program. Simply visit WTCPL.READSQUARED.COM to get started. It is free to create a personal account in ReadSquared to record reading activities, track Bingo progress, and even earn digital badges to celebrate summer reading. Then, just stop in at any W-TCPL library location to collect your prizes!

The Tadpole Club is a summer reading program specially for younger children up to age 3. Share literacy-based activities with your little one and they can receive a prize!

Children ages 3 to 12 can earn prizes for reading at home and keeping track of their reading with a Reading & Learning Bingo sheet or the online option. Kids complete activities in five boxes in a row (Read for 20 Minutes, Read or Write a Poem, etc.) to get a BINGO. Get at least 1 BINGO to win a toy prize! Get at least 2 BINGOs to win a book prize! Get at least 3 BINGOs to enter the Grand Prize gift card drawing!

Plus, each child who registers will receive a free mini “Reading Buddy” stuffed animal.

Teens can pick up the 2021 Summer Challenge at any W-TCPL location or complete the challenge entirely online for prizes and a chance to win the Grand Prize.

Adults can also participate in Book Bingo through the library or online for the opportunity to be entered in prize drawings.

Visit any W-TCPL location, the Bookmobile, or WTCPL.READSQUARED.COM beginning June 1 to join in the fun!
