Groundbreaking Ceremony Planned for Warren Library Building Project

(03/29/2021) – A ceremonial groundbreaking to celebrate the upcoming start of construction for the Warren Library addition and renovation project will take place at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021, on the lawn outside the library at 444 Mahoning Ave. NW.

Work is expected to begin in mid-April for the project that will increase the Warren Library building’s size from 58,029 sq. ft. to about 72,000 sq. ft. The majority of the new space will be utilized for the Children’s Department and the Teen Area to expand for enhanced programming and resources.

Sections of the current building will also be renovated to better support the library’s increasing technology needs and the need for more flexible spaces and meeting rooms. The library will increase its number of meeting spaces from two to 11, with various size rooms to accommodate from two to 120 people.

The project is expected to take 18 months.

The project team includes Warren based architecture firm Baker Bednar Snyder & Associates Inc.; and VendRick Construction of Brookfield.

The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library system includes libraries in Brookfield, Cortland, Howland, Liberty, Lordstown, and Warren; a Bookmobile; and Outreach Library Service.
