LIBRARIAN RETIRES AFTER 38 YEARS WITH THE W-TCPL

(September 3, 2019) – A longtime librarian with the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library has retired after 38 years with the system.

Steve Svecz began his career with the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library as a librarian in the Homebound Department, making deliveries of books and other library materials to homebound patrons. He later served as Mobile Library Services manager and, most recently, was a librarian with the Adult Services Department at the Warren Library.

“Steve has been a wonderful asset to the library,” said Jim Wilkins, W-TCPL director. “His enthusiasm for books and reading and broad knowledge of many subjects will be missed.”

Svecz was instrumental in bringing the Sherlock Holmes Readers’ Theater program to the Warren Library and also was one of the librarians who led general book discussions, science fiction/fantasy book discussions, and a movie series at the library.

The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library includes a Main Library in Warren; branch libraries in Brookfield, Cortland, Howland, Liberty, and Lordstown; and mobile library services including a Bookmobile and Homebound Library Service.
