Library launches virtual summer programming based on comedy story theater shows

(06/01/2021) – The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library (W-TCPL) is pleased to announce its partnership with Page Turner Adventures, the Emmy Award winning team of Jill Nadler and Kenny Mikey, known for bringing stories to life with their comedic approach at libraries, schools, and theaters across the world.

The W-TCPL is providing library patrons free access to the Animal Adventures Virtual Summer Library Program. The program is based on the intrepid Storyologist, Page Turner (Nadler) and Kenny, her slap-stick sidekick. Mikey, a former Ringling Bros. clown, and Nadler, a professional storyteller and author, have been performing one-of-a-kind shows and workshops for audiences for over eighteen years.

Together, the duo transforms children into Storyologists and sends them on comic quests to collect, tell, and write stories. Each week during the 4-week series, viewers will journey through the “Once Upon a Time Machine” for virtual adventures based on themes such as farmyard friends, fish tales, pet pals, and celebrity critters. There are five days of programming for each weekly theme which includes professionally produced shows, author interviews, virtual field trips, and arts and crafts projects.

Pre-recorded videos will premiere at 1 p.m. each weekday starting June 7 and continuing through July 2 and then be available to view any time through Sept. 7. To join in on the fun, visit the library’s page on Facebook or the library website at www.wtcpl.org.

The videos are geared toward children in grades K-3 and feature comedy shows, crafts, recipes, children’s book author interviews, guest performers, and much more.
