Off the Shelf: Summer Reading for Adults

The Summer Reading Program (SRP) continues to be a statewide tradition at public libraries in Ohio, ever since it began by the coordination of the State Library of Ohio in 1978.

The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library is ‘on board’ with announcing the 2022 Summer Reading Program theme of “Oceans of Possibilities.”

“So that the monotonous fall of the waves on the beach, which for the most part beat a measured and soothing tattoo to her thoughts, seemed consolingly to repeat over and over again…”
—Virginia Woolf, excerpt from “To the Lighthouse” (1927)

How to participate in the Summer Reading Program depends on to which age group one belongs. Adults, specifically, can first pick up blank book review slips inside one of our library locations (excluding the Warren Library, which is temporarily closed for renovation); second, write a book review on the slip; and third, submit book review slips back to the library. Alternatively, adults can choose to digitally submit book reviews from the comfort of home, or perhaps from the comfort of a beach, by using an online platform called ReadSquared. To participate through this convenient option, visit WTCPL.READSQUARED.COM.

Children and teens can also participate in the Summer Reading Program; find all the details on the library website here.
