Summer Reading Program
June 1 – July 31, 2021
All ages are invited to participate in our reading themed B-I-N-G-O games to earn the opportunity for fun and prizes this summer!
This year’s theme for the program is “Tails and Tales,” and a variety of online storytimes and special events throughout the summer will focus on animals and stories about them!
The free Summer Reading Programs for children, teens, and adults will begin June 1 and continue through July 31 at every W-TCPL location, on the Bookmobile, and through a new online option.
Two Ways To Participate:
1. Online through READSquared
READSquared is an online tool that offers an easy option for children, teens, and adults who would like to virtually participate in the Summer Reading Program. Simply visit WTCPL.READSQUARED.COM to get started. It is free to create a personal account in ReadSquared to record reading activities, track Bingo progress, and even earn digital badges to celebrate summer reading. Then, just stop in at any W-TCPL library location to collect your prizes!
2. Printed Summer Reading Program forms
To participate using the printed Summer Reading forms, simply stop by any library or visit the Bookmobile to pick up your Bingo form, start reading, and then bring your completed form back to your library location.
It is especially important for children to keep reading over the summer months so they can maintain their reading level when school resumes in the fall. The library’s Summer Reading Program can provide a fun incentive to help keep children motivated to keep reading!
Children ages 3 – 12 can participate in a Summer Reading & Learning Challenge Bingo game! Pick up a Reading & Learning Challenge BINGO form at any location or, to participate online, visit WTCPL.READSQUARED.COM.
FREE Reading Buddy With Registration!
Kids ages 3 – 12 will each receive a FREE mini “Reading Buddy” to accompany them on their summer reading journey!
Children who register and log their reading activities online can visit any W-TCPL location to pick up their Reading Buddy (and their prizes) before July 31!
Children ages 3 to 12 can earn prizes for reading at home and keeping track of their reading with a Reading & Learning Bingo sheet or the online option. Kids complete activities in five boxes in a row (Read for 20 Minutes, Read or Write a Poem, etc.) to get a BINGO.
