Building Project Updates
CLOSING NOTICE: The Warren Library is currently closed for the next phase of the building project.
This closure is necessary so that books, videos, and other materials from the children’s and teen areas of the library can be moved into the newly built section and renovations can begin on the first floor of the original library space.
Due dates for books and other library materials recently checked out from the Warren Library are being adjusted so that no items will be due back to the Warren Library during the closure. Customers who would like to return books, DVDs, and other library items during this time may place them in the outside return drop box at any W-TCPL location or visit one of the other libraries in person.
Picking Up Requested Items
Previously requested items and holds that were scheduled for pickup at the Warren Library will be sent to the Howland Library for pickup. When you search the W-TCPL online catalog to request items, Warren will not be listed as a pickup option during this closure.

Visit the Bookmobile in the Warren Library Parking Lot
Library cardholders will have the option to borrow books and other items from the Bookmobile, which has added weekly stops at the Warren Library to its schedule. The Bookmobile is parked in the Warren Library parking lot from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The opening date for the building addition that will house the Children’s Department and Teen Central has been pushed back due to supply chain delays. The new section of the building is now expected to open once the shelving arrives and other materials are in place in summer 2022.
Renovations to the original library building will continue after the new section is open, and a limited selection of books, DVDs, and other materials for adults will be available while that work is completed. Both sides of the library building are expected to reopen in late summer 2022.
PARKING LOT NOTICE: The parking lot’s Monroe Street entrance/exit will be closed throughout the building project. During this time, the parking lot can be accessed via Washington Street only.
We thank you for your cooperation and patience during this construction project!
Building Project Overview
The Board of Trustees of the W-TCPL in early 2020 announced plans for a 14,800 sq. ft. one-story addition to be built onto the south side of the library in Warren. After some delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, construction began in spring 2021.
The addition will increase the library building’s size by about 25%, from 58,029 sq. ft. to about 72,000 sq. ft. The majority of the Warren Library’s new space will be utilized for the Children’s Department and the Teen Area to expand, offering enhanced programming and resources
Sections of the current building will also be renovated to better support the library’s increasing technology needs and the need for more flexible spaces and meeting rooms. The library will increase its number of meeting spaces from two to 11, with various size rooms to accommodate from 2 to 120 people.
The project is expected to be complete in August 2022.
